    It does initialize a map view on app launch, however it is not shown until the user switches to it.

    An update on this. The CPU stays pegged at 100% while we are looking at our main screen. The map view exists just below it, but hasn't yet been displayed. When we switch to the mapView, CPU goes back to 0% after a few seconds.

    Is this enough information to find the cause of the issue? If the user doesn't switch over to the mapView within the first few seconds, the phone gets noticeably hot and drains the battery very quickly.

    This happens in the Simulator and on my iPhone 6, but running iOS 9.3

    We still cannot reproduce this in our demo, even with a map initialised but not shown.
    The CPU can sometimes reach 80-90%, but that's just for a brief second, it does not stay like that.

    Please try and reproduce this in our demo project or another demo, since there are a lot of things that could influence this.
    Also, on which devices have you performed this test? and is this happening in all cases?
