Yes, the TomTom CarKit works (tested by the Team).

    Hi Christin,

Can you advise how you managed to get the TomTom Car Kit to work as previously skobbler support advised that external GPS receivers do not work with your app. When I connected the 2 devices it displayed my location on screen but would not provide turn by turn navigation or the ability to search destinations and plan routes.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Dave

You need to install the app "TomTom CarKit Tool" to your iPod, too, so that there is a connection between the CarKit device and your iPod. Make sure both have enough battery.

How do i disable the search for gps on the ipod?

Can't you just press "cancel" on the popups and calculate routes in the "Map" section of the app?
