View Full Version : In your GPS Navigation app in iTunes you have 'Local Search'

is this local search available in the sdk?

In the GPS Nav app the local search feature is connected to Apple's local search feature.

You can replicate the same behaviour with our POI search functionality: on Android http://developer.skobbler.com/getting-started/android#sec020 and on iOS http://developer.skobbler.com/getting-started/ios#sec21. The demo projects (http://developer.skobbler.com/support#download) also contain samples on how to run these queries.

Note: the query will happen on the POIs present in OpenStreetMap, so the better the data there, the better the search results.

Thanks, great support.

is it possible to do different coloured routes?

01.09.2014, 08:37

If you refer to change the route color dynamically or style route segments differently, right now is not possible.
But, you can edit the style JSON files from the SKMaps.zip archive that stores the resources. In the demo these JSON files are daystyle.json, grayscalestyle.json, nightstyle.json and outdoorstyle.json

There is a detailed answer about this scenario for the Android platform on StackOverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25517924/how-to-change-the-color-of-the-route-in-skobbler

Thanks, I was talking about the colour of the routes. We intend to show several routes and need them to be different colours representing different users.

You can color various road segments along the route provided that you draw them separately. Retrieve the route information by calling routeCoordinatesForRouteWithId

NSArray *locations = [[SKRoutingService sharedInstance] routeCoordinatesForRouteWithId:routeInformation.ro uteID];

Note: make sure you have set requestExtendedRoutePointsInfo to true for SKRouteSetttings before calling calculate route. And then you'll have access to the road segments, which you can draw on the map as colored Polylines.
